About Caryn
Caryn Truppman, CFP*, BA in biology, CECE***
Caryn has been a guild certified Feldenkrais practitioner for 18 years, teaching adults and children in private practice, in the university and in the community. She specialises in working with performing artists and children in Pt Chevalier, Auckland.
A native of Miami and before becoming a Feldenkrais practitioner, she completed degrees in biology and early childhood education, and studied martial arts and dance. Her personal injuries and recovery has enriched her understanding of human functioning (from babyhood to adulthood and beyond). This has led her to a unique and sensitive application of Moshe’s body of work.
She has taught at the University of Auckland, Unitec Institute of Technology, been a practitioner assistant in New Zealand trainings and has facilitated research in musician’s health.
One of her specialties has been working with young people - from athletes and musicians who wish to improve their performance and reduce injuries to children with cerebral palsy who learn to become mobile with grace. She has an equal interest in working with adults and performing artists. Her work is centred on the needs of the individual, and is of necessity, both precise and creative.
She is on the New Zealand Feldenkrais Guild executive and also mentors practitioners.
